Asking For Directions Visitor: Pardon me, but could you help me? I am trying to find the train station and I need some help. I must have walked all over this town trying to find it.   Local: Please, sit down for a moment, then. You have asked the right person—I am a local and have lived in this town my whole life. I love helping visitors find their way around. The train station is right in the middle of the town.   Visitor: I must have walked right past it then. I am not sure how I missed it.   Local: I understand, a lot of people get lost when they visit here for the first time. Do you see the police office over there?   Visitor: Yes, I do. I think I walked by that earlier.   Local: Well, if you walk right past that office, all the way up to that stop light where those cars are stopped right now, it will be just to the left down that street.   Visitor: Thank you so much for your help. How long do you expect it will take me to walk to the train station from here?   Local: I expect it will take you no more than ten minutes. If you walk fast, you could even make it there sooner. When does your train return?   Visitor: My train is expected to return at 3:45 pm. I am hoping that I did not miss it by getting lost today.   Local: Oh, no, there is still plenty of time to get to the station before your train returns. You can head over now and wait at one of the benches there.   Visitor: That is a good idea. Thank you so much for your help!   Local: Of course. Remember, left at the stop light after the police office!   Visitor: I will remember. Thanks again!
