The idea of an office landscape originated in the 1960s.The basic concept was to utilize a large office space, landscaped to create the appearance of an irregular terrain similar to one in a park or large garden by arrangements of furniture, office machines, dividers, flowers, bushes, and small trees. Many organizations use a mixture of office designs: wide open spaces here, sections with shoulder-high cubicle dividers there, and closed-off individual offices in other parts. This often resulted in rather pleasant office environments that could easily accommodate changes in interior arrangements.
