Bellino said 5G will enable self-driving cars and settings from vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to infrastructure.
"A very low latency for these kinds of things is critical, otherwise it could run the risk of an accident," Bellino said.
Renault said the vehicle's appearance from vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and vehicle infrastructure (V2I) is growing faster than expected.
"I think this is laying chicken and egg, where when 5G is there, you'll see this explosion."
