Ouargla is one of the most important Algerian states due to its historical extension, as it is one of the most important cities in the first Islamic state in the Maghreb, and the city was then called “Warkelan” to change the accent of its pronunciation in Berber now as “Wargen”, meaning the free man in the past, as its residents who built the city of Warkelan gathered one of its desert palaces Great wealth through the trade line that they activated with deep Africa, and secondly because it is the source of petroleum wealth for Algeria and the newly named city of Ouargla, which has inhabited since the dawn of history and constituted the regional capital of the southeast since the Ottoman period.
