5.Conclusions Thepresentstudyrevealedthatenvironmentalenrichmentthroughtheprovision carcassandmeatqualityofbroilerchickens.Heatstressadverselyaffectedmostofthe ofcooledmultifunctionalplatformsdidnotcompromisetheproductionperformanceor functionalityseparatelywithrespecttoanimalwelfare,performance,andenvironmental loweredmortalityratesunderheat-stressconditionsandreducedtheriskofbreastmus clemyopathies,likelyduetothecoolingfunctionality.Giventhesepromisingresults, performancevariablesexceptthefeedconversionratio.Accesstotheseelevatedplatforms furtherresearchshouldfocusondevelopingtheplatformprototypestobemoresuitable forcommercialuptake.Additionalstudiesareneededtoevaluatetheeffectsofthese impact.Forinstance,theoptimaltemperaturesettingforwatercooling,dependingonthe platformsundercommercialconditions,includingtheassessmentandoptimisationofeach ageofthebirdsandtheambienttemperature,needstobeinvestigated.
