The Red Sea Project and Vision 2030 Sustainability The Red Sea Project (TRSP) is a significant development initiative that spans over 28,000 square kilometers along the Red Sea coast in Saudi Arabia.CZM provides a framework for coordinating activities in marine zones close to shorelines, complementing MSP efforts that extend into exclusive economic zones (EEZs).By incorporating land-sea interactions and adopting an integrated approach that includes CZM in MSP processes, TRSP aims to promote sustainable development while conserving marine ecosystems.Marine Spatial Planning for Conservation Outcomes To ensure that the development of TRSP aligns with conservation goals, marine spatial planning (MSP) has been employed to optimize the conservation of the Al Wajh lagoon within the project area. The Al Wajh lagoon encompasses 92 islands with valuable habitats such as coral reefs, seagrass, and mangroves that are of global conservation importance.
