Comprehensive patient information application (CPIA)

The application includes all the necessary information about patients for the nurses including medication, care, education..etc. Nurses will be allocated to patients by the head nurse or the charge nurse via the app

The application has many features, including:

1-Documentation & notes: At the end of the shift, the nurse documents the patient’s information & updates, and it will be available for the nurse on the next shift. Also, the nurse can also add additional notes that could help the nurse on the next nurse. As a result, nurses will be able to avoid paper based notes. 

2-Privacy and Confidentiality: Access to patient data is restricted to the nurse allocated to the patient only. This is accomplished by logging in with the nurse’s ID number and password. The app will display only the patients that the nurse is responsible for. 

3-Vital signs monitoring: patients vital signs will be displayed in the app and it will be updated regularly by linking it to the monitor. This will help the nurse document vital signs without using paper notes. Not to mention, this feature provides a significant advantage in the ICU as it allows nurses to monitor vital signs without disturbing the patient.

4-Health education: Nurses can add educational materials  for the patient via the app, and the nurse will encourage the patient to download the app, so that the patient can use the app and read the information at any time, whether in the hospital or at home.

5-Linking the application to the patient’s room: The application is linked to the patient’s room, allowing the patient to communicate with the nurse when needed, whether through the app or through the call bell. 

6-Timer and alarms: The app will feature a timer and alarm system for the nurse. These timers and alarms will include reminders for medication administration, changing a patient's position, cleaning a stoma, tube feeding, the end of IV solution to prevent air embolism…etc. This feature aim to ensure timely and accurate implementation of these procedures, enhancing patient safety and minimizing errors.
