Pharmacology studies how drugs interact with living systems to modify physiological processes or diseases.  This involves pharmacokinetics (how the body affects the drug, encompassing absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion – ADME) and pharmacodynamics (how the drug affects the body, including its mechanism of action, therapeutic effects, and side effects).
