Ahmad ibn Fadlan (also spelled Ahmed or Ibn Fadlan) was a 10th-century Arab traveler, geographer, and scholar from the Abbasid Caliphate. He is best known for his detailed account of his journey to the Volga Bulgars, a Turkic people living along the Volga River in what is now Russia. His observations and experiences are documented in a travelogue known as the "Ibn Fadlan's Journey to Russia."
