Islamic Legal Regulation for Divorce
In Islam marriage is a rule and divorce is an exception to it. This is evident from a hadith of the Prophet who declared divorce as the most detestable thing allowed for Muslims. To this end, Islam encourages various measures that can help the success of a marriage. However, in the event of a family quarrel becoming increasingly uncontainable, and the parties becoming intolerable to each other, Islamic law provides rules of separation. This is known as .taliiq (divorce).
