Sultan Qaboos bin Said was  brought into the world on November 18, 1940, in Salalah, Dhofar, the  farthest south city of the state.He is the only son of the tardy Sultan Said bin Taimur and the eighth clear descendant of the Al Busaidi royal lineage founded by Imam Ahmed bin Said in 1744.In conclusion, Sultan Qaboos bin Said remains a symbol of change and progress in Oman, leaving behind a legacy of modernization and a balance between tradition and innovation.He is the only son of Said bin Taimur, the eighth Sultan of the Busaidi reign.First Arab head of state to receive the International Peace Award                                   
The National Council on US-Arab Relations, Harvard University, and more than 35 organizations nominated Sultan Qaboos for the International Peace Award, which was given by former US President Jimmy Carter.He deposed his father, Said bin Taimur, at the age of 29, who prohibited specific activities and placed limitations on marriage, education, and travel.Sultan Qaboos spent his  babyhood in Salalah.For fifty years, Qaboos imposed an absolute rule and a neutral policy on Oman.
