Typical biochemistry lab have three different centrifuges:
1.Microcentrifuge:
(microfuge centrifuges or mini centrifuge or bench top centrifuge)
o Capacity: spinning 1-2 ml centrifuge tubes (small quantities) o Speeds: up to 12000 - 13000 rpm.High-speed centrifuge:
o Speed: up to about 25,000 rpm
o Capacity: various sizes, depending on the rotors (the larger the rotor, the slower the maximum speed).o Usually rotors at 4oC, so called cold centrifuge
