Alex, a fifteen-year-old who constantly moves due to his parents' work, avoids making friends. He receives a guitar as a birthday present and writes a song about his loneliness. Bella, a girl who lives next door, hears him play and asks for lessons.  Alex reluctantly agrees and they begin a close friendship.  Bella, wanting to help Alex, secretly uploads a video of his song to VideoSpace, which earns him many "likes" and even a request to play at the youth club. Alex is initially upset by Bella's actions but eventually understands her intentions.  He performs at the youth club and Bella attends, smiling and showing her support. The story ends with Alex kissing Bella, suggesting a possible future for their friendship.
