A screen saver is a computer program or feature that automatically activates after a period of inactivity on a device, such as a computer or smartphone. Traditionally, it was designed to prevent “burn-in” on CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors by displaying moving images or patterns. Nowadays, screen savers are more commonly used for aesthetic purposes or to hide sensitive information when the computer is unattended.
