Problems Identified
Labor Shortages
The labor problem is most acute in agriculture where many of the tasks that are highly repetitive and can only be done manually are scarce. This is coupled with the fact that the agricultural workforce is graying and fewer young people are seeking employment in the sector.

The most commonly used methods of farming are not very helpful in managing the resources such as water, fertilizers, and pesticides properly. This paper has also discussed how these inputs can be overused or misused with negative consequences on the environment, soil and increased expenditures.
Environmental Impact
The current form of farming has been associated with problems such as soil erosion, water pollution and emission of greenhouse gases due to use conventional farming methods. To address these problems, there is a rising demand for eco-friendly farming methods that do not contribute to these detrimental effects (He, 2021).
Inadequate Crop Monitoring
This is because, many farmers do not have the tools to allow them to monitor the health of their crops, and conditions of the surrounding environment, to put them in a position to respond swiftly to the outbreak of diseases, pest attack, or unfavorable weather conditions. This can lead to low crop yields and high crop losses (Jin, 2020).

Automation and Efficiency
Farmers require automation solutions that minimize the use of manual labor, enhance productivity, and decrease the cost of production. Self-governed robotic systems do not get tired and can operate with high accuracy in regards to the tasks they have been programmed to accomplish.
Sustainable Practices
It is high time to find ways and means for green farming practices that are based on renewable energy sources and reduced chemical inputs. The use of solar-powered systems is ideal because they do not contribute to the emission of greenhouse gases (Kang, 2019).
Real-Time Data and Decision-Making
These include information on the status of crops, the type of soil, and the climate so that the farmers can make correct decisions swiftly. A well-integrated monitoring system with clear indications can assist in early intervention and enhance crop management.
Scalability and Flexibility
Farmers require solutions that are easily adaptable to accommodate various farms and their sizes. This is a very advantageous in that it is easy to add on or adjust to fit particular needs as the system is in modules (Khosla, 2020).
