I am a maritime English trainer. The title “Maritime English Trainer” shows my three capabilities:

• A general English background as I am a graduate of English Literature, Tishreen University, Lattakia, Syrian Arab Republic, 1983.


• Adults English language trainer in various specialties for more than 25 years with a T.O.T. ( Trainer of trainers ) certificate from a local English Language Institution.


• Maritime knowledge with five years experience.
  In November 2018, I took the first step in teaching maritime English. Since then, I have devoted all my time to obtain good knowledge about maritime activities and share this knowledge with my students / trainees who prepare themselves to sail on board vessels as cadets or officers.
  I am specialized in giving lectures to ( ESP ) students of navigation and engineering (cadets), and in executing training courses in Maritime English to the maritime operational levels namely:
  1- Officers in Charge of a Navigational Watch. ( 2nd Officers)
  2- Officers in charge of Engineering Watch. ( 3rd Engineers)
  As stated in attached course books contents, a part of my achievements lies in these Maritime English course books which I have tailored in accordance with the IMO model course 3.17. STCW: A-II/1 and STCW: A-III/1.
  Moreover, I always try to improve my communication skills, organizational skills, time management skills and above all the continuous learning skills which shown in these past five years.
  I really enjoy teaching and training maritime English and I am mostly interested in teaching maritime English for the navigational officers which covers: ship handling, ship building, navigation, navigational aids, aids to navigations, cargo handling, ship logbook, seamanship and vessel maneuvering, meteorology and weather reports, the Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCPs) , GMDSS calls ( routine, distress, urgency and safety) and conducting internal and external communications using the role-play technique.
  I have gained intensive and constructive long period experiences in maritime English training by joining two professional maritime academies and a maritime training center successively in Syria.
  Finally, I believe that my experience and passion for training would be the ideal fit for the philosophy and the resources offered by your academy and I am eager to get the opportunity to join your team of trainers where I can present my skills and deliver my experiences.
