Cadwallader then tracked down Christopher Wyle, a former employee of CAMBRIDGE Analytica, who provided them with the information they needed. After working with Wyle for a year, Cadwallader convinced him to go public with the company's scandal and to consider him a whistle-blower.
Following the joint publication of three newspapers' investigations and articles on March 17, 2018, there was "massive public outrage" over Cambridge Analytica's relationship with Facebook. As a result, Facebook's market worth dropped by more than $100 billion in a matter of days. Additionally, a number of US and UK lawmakers pressed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for explanations, and in the end, he was compelled to consent to testify before the US Congress.
