Effect of Camel Milk on the Expression of Oxidative Stress Genes in HepG2 Cells
To further explore whether camel milk-induced apoptotic genes is associated with induction of oxidative stress markers in HepG2 cells, we examined the effect of camel milk on heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) and NQO1 mRNAs and ROS production as oxidative stress marker.Figure 3(a) shows that camel milk significantly induced HO-1 mRNA levels only at the higher concentrations tested, 10 and 20 mg/mL, by approximately 3 and 4 folds, respectively.
