Among the important pieces exhibited at the Egyptian museum, what mistakenly known as the Israel stela.It was found by Petri in 1896 engraved in one of the walls of the open court of the funerary temple Merenptah at western Thebes.When Petri first found the stela, he attributed it to Merenptah due to its finding place and due to the fact that it was inscribed by the cartouche of the King.The stela as you can see is made out of painted granite in hieroglyphic, quarried from Aswan.
