Due to the growing complexity of coordinating the supplement of materials and shipment of products in global supply chain networks, logistics as a business concept was evolved in the 1950s (Sutton, 2008).Moreover, global enterprises require higher attention on the environmental effects of their logistics activities. Logistics management is one of the supply chain disciplines that plans, organizes, implements, and controls the flow of resources (goods, services and related information) from the point of origin to the point of consumption in a way that meets customers' requirements efficiently and effectively (Scholz-Reiter and El-Berishy, 2012).Logistics involves an integrated approach with the integration of information, transportation, inventory, warehousing, material handling, and packaging, and recently added security. However, enterprises are facing new challenges while applying these methods.
