Atticus Finch
Atticus Finch is a prominent lawyer and citizen in the fictional town of
Maycomb, Alabama.He falls out with the people of Maycomb because he
cannot accept the racial prejudice against the Blacks.Atticus practices the ethics of sympathy
and understanding and preaches the same to his children Scout and Jem.Throughout the novel, Atticus is consistent and
committed to being just to everyone and willing to look at matters from
the perspective of others.Atticus thus remains the novel's moral guide
and voice of conscience.He is intelligent and calm and well respected by
everyone in Maycomb.
