An interpreter is a person who communicates thoughts or expressions in a source language into comparable thoughts or expressions in the target language in “real-time”. A skilled interpreter is able to direct every semantic element (tone and register), intention, and feeling of the message that the source-language speaker is directing to the target-language recipient/recipients linguistically, emotionally, tonally, and culturally.
