The population of the world is predicted to grow daily to 9.7 billion people by the year 2050.Enhancing the potential of currently accessible cultivable lands and raising productive potential with available resources and technology are essential to achieving greater crop yield (FAO, 2009).One of the earliest Mediterranean food legumes, faba beans (Vicia faba L.) were first domesticated in the eastern Mediterranean (Avramidou et al., 2023).Increasing agricultural yield is the only way to achieve these goals.
