Both above-ground and below-ground landfill configurations are commonly used.It is the best suited for flat terrains
with shallow groundwater elevations.Few other
important aspects related to landfill configurations are briefly discussed in the

called valley fill (or canyon fill) used in mountainous terrains.These are suitable for relatively flat
areas.
