I hate gossip.I've also become very reluctant to share any of what I have "News" because I felt it was very likely to become public domain.However, much in the media, in publications and on the Internet is based on gossip.Many people have become so accustomed to it that they fail to recognize it as gossip.I find it boring and destructive.Information for general consumption.I met an older friend who I hadn't seen for some time."Mind your own business" is considered rude and aggressive.They consider it news.

I hate gossip. I find it boring and destructive. However, much in the media, in publications and on the Internet is based on gossip. Many people have become so accustomed to it that they fail to recognize it as gossip. They consider it news. Information for general consumption.
I met an older friend who I hadn't seen for some time. She proceeded to tell me all the “news” about people I knew, and people I had never heard of before. None of it was harmful per se, but it was extremely boring and embarrassing. I honestly felt like I was wasting my time and her time for no apparent reason. At some point, I realized I wasn't participating in the conversation and attributed my attitude to my obsession with work. So, she started lecturing me about the negative effects of not taking a regular vacation. Then she told me about another person who continued to work like me—someone I knew—and about how sick she had become from exhaustion that had her hospitalized for about four months. I started to feel physically ill.
What right does anyone have to bother someone to the point that they get sick? Why does this disaster attract so much attention? Why doesn't anyone tell stories or spread rumors about good days, successful endeavors and happy people? Impending disaster seems to sell much better than happy development.
This trend has proven itself well. Most of the news is about threats, criminal behaviour, destruction, bankruptcy, war...etc. The bleaker the news, the larger the audience, the higher the ratings, and the greater the success of the program.
“Mind your own business” is considered rude and aggressive. If you dare to utter these words, you will be immediately dismissed as selfish, insensitive, and ungrateful. Somehow, making other people's work our own has become the norm rather than the exception. But I will keep saying it and taking risks in order to maintain some peace of mind and do my bit in a small way: reminding those who care to be reminded that we all have the right to privacy without being considered strangers,
