I have a BS in Computer Science and initially planned to study in the UK, but after receiving a job offer, I shifted my focus to working there. Now I’m worried this refusal might affect my chances if I apply again for a student visa or any future UK immigration path.

Here’s a quick summary of the refusal and my situation:

🔹 Sales Strategy Question: I was asked what I’d do if profits dropped. I answered that I would check customer responses, pricing, and product quality. They said my answer lacked the depth expected for a managerial role as outlined in my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

🔹 Conflict Management: I explained that I would adjust staff timings, try to resolve the issue, and, if it continued, let go of the involved staff. But they said my answer didn’t show the conflict resolution skills expected from someone with managerial experience.

🔹 Shoplifting/Store Security: I mentioned that we only keep show pieces on display and bring out items from inventory when selected. They felt this didn’t address the actual question about preventing shoplifting or ensuring customer/staff safety.

🔹 Training & Experience Doubts: They said: “You have also not submitted anything that confirms your training, experience, or level of expertise in this field, nor what your sponsor looked for in order to hire you.” But I did submit relevant experience letters along with my visa application, so this part was surprising and disappointing.

🔹 Interview Communication Issues: During the interview, I had voice clarity issues and had selected a translator, but I think some of my answers weren’t fully delivered or came across too short due to communication problems. I now believe this might have led to misinterpretation of my intentions and abilities.

Now I’m seeking advice:

Should I go for Administrative Review (AR)?

Will this negatively affect my chances of getting a UK student visa later?

Has anyone experienced something similar and successfully appealed?

I’ve got 28 days to request the AR. Any advice, suggestions, or shared experiences would be extremely helpful right now.
