Brain tumors represent one of the most severe and life-threatening medical conditions, posing significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges worldwide.This project seeks to address these challenges by developing a MATLAB-based tool that integrates various image processing methods to enhance, segment, and analyze brain MRI scans, ultimately aiding in more accurate and efficient tumor identification.Currently, the primary method for diagnosing brain tumors involves the analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans by radiologists and neurologists.Moreover, with the increasing volume of medical imaging data in healthcare systems, there is a growing need for automated or computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) tools that can assist medical professionals in making faster, more consistent, and more reliable decisions.

Currently, the primary method for diagnosing brain tumors involves the analysis of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans by radiologists and neurologists. However, manual interpretation of these scans is a complex, time-consuming, and subjective process, often influenced by the clinician’s experience and expertise. Variations in tumor appearance, overlapping intensity values with healthy tissues, and the presence of imaging artifacts or noise can further complicate accurate detection and delineation.

Moreover, with the increasing volume of medical imaging data in healthcare systems, there is a growing need for automated or computer-aided diagnostic (CAD) tools that can assist medical professionals in making faster, more consistent, and more reliable decisions. Traditional visual inspection may also lead to delayed diagnosis or oversight, especially in cases of early-stage or small tumors, which could significantly affect patient outcomes. Therefore, there is an urgent demand for intelligent, efficient, and accessible systems that leverage advanced image processing and analysis techniques to support clinicians in the early detection and assessment of brain tumors. This project seeks to address these challenges by developing a MATLAB-based tool that integrates various image processing methods to enhance, segment, and analyze brain MRI scans, ultimately aiding in more accurate and efficient tumor identification.
