They lived a simple life and they were mostly nomadic - they moved around a lot, gathered food and hunted wild animals. But in the 1700s it all changed when Europeans came to Australia. The Europeans took the lands of the Aboriginal Australians to farm and to build towns- mostly on the coast. There was a lot of trouble and many Aboriginal people were killed or put in prison. They had to move into the outback where the land wasn't so good and where there wasn't much food. Another problem was that the Europeans brought diseases to the continent and many Indigenous Australians died.

Boomerangs were used to hunt animals, to dig in the ground or as a knife. The didgeridoo is an instrument that makes a fantastic deep sound.
