“Adult” evening (based on the story by A. Aleksin)

One day, dad invited Alyosha to a festive evening at the hospital where he worked. Alyosha agreed and immediately felt like an adult. He was only on school holidays. Alyosha would like to forget that he is only eleven years old, but that evening each of dad’s colleagues always asked:

• How old are you?

Eleven, Alyosha answered.

Can't be! they smiled and said to dad: Your son is already so big?! It's hard to believe... You know, Alyosha is very similar to you!

Mom was also always told that Alyosha looked like her. Therefore, it was difficult for him to understand what his appearance was like. Mom was beautiful, and grandmother once said about dad:

• It’s hard to call him handsome...

-And don’t call me if it’s difficult for you! Alyosha answered. But he doesn't care

love!

• I don't argue with that! said the grandmother. What are you worried about? Appearance
It's not important for a man.
“Then what is most important for a man? To be a bright individual?” thought Alyosha. The literature teacher often asked that all her students be “bright individuals.” That evening Alyosha was like this for the first time in his life: he paid attention. individuality, all my dad's colleagues paid attention to him
Now we will talk about the best people of our hospital! said the head doctor of the hospital. We invited our former patients here. Let them say...

A young man came to the center, and everyone at different ends of the hall said:

• This is Seryozha! Seryozha!

-Does everyone here know him? Alyosha asked one man.

-Certainly! He was completely weak. No one believed that he would be healthy, but your dad believed and cured him.

• I am working! - Seryozha said loudly and joyfully. - I play hockey! But because there are such people in the world... There is such a person...

And everyone looked at Alyosha’s dad. Two more former patients said that
with his help they were “born a second time.” Then Alyosha saw how he and his dad were talking: as warmly as close people talk to each other. And then there was a concert and dancing... Women came up to dad and invited him to dance. But dad quietly apologized and repeated:

-I can not dance. Better invite Seryozha!
Seryozha looked the healthiest in the room. He danced the most, laughed and talked the loudest. He wanted to prove to himself that he could do it all...
..

Alyosha and dad were about to go outside when he approached dad
a man in a white robe said something quietly to him. Dad's face immediately became
serious. Without explanation, he asked Seryozha to take his son home. Don't you understand? This is your father’s job, Seryozha answered.

-Why did he stay? - Alyosha asked as they walked down the street.

-What job? Alyosha didn’t understand.
-Don’t you understand? That’s your father’s job,” Seryozha answered.
“To save people,” he said, and then added: he really looks a lot like his father. You know, Alyosha, you

At that moment Alyosha thought that he looked like his dad only in appearance, and he really wanted to be like him in everything, because his father is an example of a real man. But for this he needs to learn how to make people happy!
