How to Use Your Aligners Correctly

1. Wear them 20–22 hours per day Remove only to eat, drink anything hot or colored, and brush/floss.


2. Change to the next aligner every 14 days (or as we prescribed). Change in the evening so initial tightness happens while you sleep.


3. Switching aligners
   o Remove old aligners using your fingers or an aligner remover tool from the back teeth forward.
   o Rinse new aligner with cool water and insert. Push gently until it “clicks” fully into place.

   o NEVER use hot water – it will warp them.
   Eating & Drinking
   • Remove aligners to eat or drink anything except plain cold water.

   • If prescribed rubber bands, wear them exactly as shown. Change them daily.
   What to Expect
   • First 1–3 days with each new aligner: mild pressure or soreness (this is normal – it means they’re working!).
   • Slight lisp the first few days – it goes away quickly.

If Something Goes Wrong
• Aligner feels too tight or won’t seat fully → push them more with your fingers; call us if still not fitting after 3–5 days.
• Lost or broken aligner → put the PREVIOUS aligner back in immediately and call us the same day.
• Lost the last aligner → keep wearing the current one until we see you.
Appointments & Retention
• Come in every 6–8 weeks so we can check progress.
• When treatment is finished you MUST wear retainers (we will give you instructions).
