Aluminum oxide layers have been prepared and doped with nickel using a low cost spray pyrolysis process onto glass substrates. During both
elaboration and characterization phases, it was verified a polycrystalline character which indicating cubic structure of Ni-Al2O3 films. Optical
studies in terms of optical band gap, Urbach energy, refractive index show a high dependency to Ni incorporation in Al2O3 matrix.
In summary, the presence of Ni in the coating process has led to a significant improvement in the crystallinity of the main phase as well as the
coating's surface condition, as evidenced by X-ray diffraction and AFM results. These improvements could positively impact the properties and
durability of the coating by enhancing its corrosion resistance and ensuring material protection.
