Price policies define pricing rules. Discounts are planned reductions, strictly governed by them.

A price policy is a formal set of rules that explains how prices are set, applied, and collected for goods or services. It ensures transparency, consistency, and fairness for both the provider and the customer (or patient, client, etc.).

A price policy usually includes:
• Standard prices for services or products
• Billing procedures (when and how payment is made)
• Accepted payment methods (cash, card, insurance, installments, etc.)
• Insurance or third-party coverage rules (if applicable)
• Refund, cancellation, or no-show rules
• Price changes and how customers are informed

The main purpose of a price policy is to:
• Avoid misunderstandings
• Ensure equal pricing for everyone
• Protect the organization legally and financially
• Clearly communicate costs before services are provided

Price Policy Discount – Detailed Explanation

A price policy discount is a planned reduction of the standard price that is clearly defined within the price policy. Discounts are not random; they follow specific conditions and rules.

• Insurance-negotiated discounts
• Bulk or package discounts
• Membership or loyalty discounts
• Promotional or time-limited discounts
• Special consideration discounts (students, families, or financial hardship cases)

Each discount usually specifies:
• Who qualifies
• How much the discount is
• When it applies
• Whether it can be combined with other discounts
