1.By adjusting the potentiometer, you can change the point in the AC cycle at which the TRIAC is triggered, effectively controlling how much power is delivered to the fan.Speed Regulation: As the TRIAC is turned on later in the AC cycle (due to higher resistance), less power is delivered to the fan, resulting in lower speeds.Triggering the TRIAC: Once the voltage across the Diac reaches its breakdown voltage, it conducts and sends a pulse to the gate of the TRIAC.2.4.5.

1.

Power Supply: The regulator is connected to the AC mains supply, and the fan is connected to the output of the regulator.

2.

Adjusting Speed: When the potentiometer is adjusted, it changes the resistance in the circuit. This variation affects the voltage level that the Diac will trigger at.

3.

Triggering the TRIAC: Once the voltage across the Diac reaches its breakdown voltage, it conducts and sends a pulse to the gate of the TRIAC. This allows current to flow through the TRIAC to the fan.

4.

Controlling Power: The TRIAC remains on until the AC waveform crosses zero volts. By adjusting the potentiometer, you can change the point in the AC cycle at which the TRIAC is triggered, effectively controlling how much power is delivered to the fan.

5.

Speed Regulation: As the TRIAC is turned on later in the AC cycle (due to higher resistance), less power is delivered to the fan, resulting in lower speeds. Conversely, if the TRIAC is triggered earlier, more power is delivered, increasing the fan speed.
