1.Open the valve only for the desired testing pipe, allow water to flow through the pipe - and turn on the pump in the hydraulic bench to start the experiment - then open and close the valves in the system repeatedly to get rid of the air bubbles (continue until the flow is clear) - then close the vales and check the manometer level in both pipes (should be the same).Ensure that all valves are closed 2.3.4.

2. Remove air bubbles from the system - connect pipes to the upstream and downstream of the desired testing pipe to measure the pressure drop. Open the valve only for the desired testing pipe, allow water to flow through the pipe - and turn on the pump in the hydraulic bench to start the experiment - then open and close the valves in the system repeatedly to get rid of the air bubbles (continue until the flow is clear) - then close the vales and check the manometer level in both pipes (should be the same).


3. Open the gate valve again and set it to a desired flow (measure the flow by retaining volume and measuring time Q=Volume/time).


4. Then take readings from the manometer (h1 and h2) - pressure head at the upstream and downstream of the pipe.22


5. Repeat the same procedure for other flow rates and other pipes (with different roughness).
