Important clinical studies using mucoactives in bronchiectasis are now being conducted, which will shed light on how these substances are used to treat bronchiectasis patients.
The mechanism of action of mucoactive medications and their timing with ACT should be taken into consideration since mucoactive therapy should be prescribed in conjunction with ACT. All current guidelines for bronchiectasis recommend PR and/or exercise training.
