Despite her efforts, some fans still took to social media to hand the blame to Clark and let off Watson - pointing to the foul as the moment the game turned.

One fan said: "Funny to me how people are blaming Aliyah Boston for the loss when at the 4 min mark of the 4th and the Fever up by 4, Caitlin Clark turned the ball over which led to a Harris 3 then turned the ball over again in the next possession then committed a take foul then got a tech"

Another added: "Aliyah Boston will be blamed for the Fever's loss but the Caitlin Clark transition take foul and technical really changed the game momentum.
