The purpose of this project is to investigate what students think about tobacco and how the government discourages tobacco use.Over time the environment which had supported smoking indoors has transformed.Today, 23 states and 493 localities have adopted laws restricting indoor smoking.Limiting where people can smoke has contributed to the social marginalization of smoking as an accepted behaviour.However, it is very harmful for its user and it causes a lot of health problems.Its use is very common.

Tobacco is a plant that people use to make cigarettes and other stuff like that. Its use is very common. However, it is very harmful for its user and it causes a lot of health problems. Hartmann-Boyce J said “Tobacco cigarettes have long been popular with adolescents, and many are also using new tobacco, nicotine and cannabis products.” However, there are many reasons for tobacco to be popular such as: social situation and the curiosity. The tobacco scourge is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced, killing over 8 million people a year around the world. More than 7 million of those deaths are the outcome of direct tobacco use while around 1.3 million are the outcome of non-smokers being insecure to second-hand smoke. Government efforts to discourage tobacco use include implementing policies, such as making cigarettes more expensive, putting warnings on the packages, and not allowing a lot of advertising. According to the Surgeon General’s 2014 report “Smoking is a significant health risk, and forms the justification for the tobacco control policies the government has instituted since the dangers first became apparent”.
