The marginalization of women in local communities limits their potential contribution to cultural and economic development. In many Egyptian cities, women possess valuable skills — such as embroidery, weaving, crafts, and small-scale farming — yet they lack safe educational and productive spaces, social and market support, and real integration into public life. As a result, women remain confined to the “home” instead of the “public realm,” creating a gap between their social potential and the broader economic reality that restricts them.
