The impact of bypass fat supplementation on the reproductive and production characteristics of high-yielding crossbred cows with or without postpartum hormonal induction of oestrus was assessed by Das et al. (2020). Four experimental groups, each consisting of six cows, participated in the trial: GI (control), GII (200 g bypass fat), GIII (200 g bypass fat daily + Ovsynch protocol), and GIV (ONSYCH protocol only). Peak yield, a measure of milk production, was found to be superior for the animals in GII and GIII. GII and GIII (animals fed with bypass fat) had a significantly higher conception rate than GI and GIV. Animals fed bypass fat (GII and GIII) had a higher relative economic benefit than other animals, and the calving to conception interval was significantly shorter. In conclusion, feeding dairy animals bypass fat is a financially feasible and environmentally responsible way to increase their reproductive and productive capabilities.
