In this reflective report, I describe my experiences taking the patient history from Anwar Mohammed, who has multiple comorbidities including dysphagia and Alzheimer's disease.These insights while valuable in other sectors are essential in radiology where communication has a major effect on patient information, quality care healthcare provision.It enabled me to improve my communication abilities and professional conduct --abilities that will contribute to providing better patient care and more effective communication in my upcoming career as a radiologic technologist.I think over the challenges that confronted me, the lessons that were imparted to me, and the growth that I have personally achieved especially on the aspect of communication and professionalism in my work as a radiology technologist.Furthermore, this dysphagia made it necessary for me to be careful about how I worded my questions so as to not cause any discomfort, and I had to depend on relatives for other vital medical details.In conclusion, I discussed the difficulties I encountered while taking Anwar Mohammed's medical history, especially due to his Alzheimer's disease and dysphagia.

In this reflective report, I describe my experiences taking the patient history from Anwar Mohammed, who has multiple comorbidities including dysphagia and Alzheimer’s disease. I think over the challenges that confronted me, the lessons that were imparted to me, and the growth that I have personally achieved especially on the aspect of communication and professionalism in my work as a radiology technologist.
Problems were compounded by the fact that Anwar’s cognitive decline made recalling details along with answering questions clearly very difficult, so he faced several issues. This meant that I had to make an effort to be simpler in my wording and more relaxed. Furthermore, this dysphagia made it necessary for me to be careful about how I worded my questions so as to not cause any discomfort, and I had to depend on relatives for other vital medical details.
There are several deficiencies in communication I have discovered from interacting with patients who have complicated health conditions such as some having complex comorbidities. Building a connection was just as crucial well as using fitting words and employing patience. Patient's family members turned out to be extremely helpful in this regard as well. These insights while valuable in other sectors are essential in radiology where communication has a major effect on patient information, quality care healthcare provision.
Completing this activity along with the ones with the patients improved my communication along with my professionalism. As a result, I became more patient, more observant, and more passive as I learned to change my methods to that of the patient. All this helped me become a better and more professional radiology technician and cements that value.
