In their article “The Sociological Perspective of Users’ Invisible Work” (2021), published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR), Truppia and colleagues explore this hidden dimension. They argue that while health technologies may appear seamless, they depend on a significant amount of invisible work performed by users, such as setting up devices, interpreting data, and resolving technical problems.
