A database management system (DBMS) is system software for creating and managing databases. A DBMS makes it possible for end users to create, protect, read, update, and delete data in a database. The most prevalent type of data management platform, the DBMS essentially serves as an interface between databases and users or application programs, ensuring that data is consistently organized and remains easily accessible.

• SQL or Structured Query Language is a critical tool for data professionals. It is undoubtedly the most important language for getting a job in the field of data analysis or data sciences.

• SQL commands

1. DDL (Data Definition Language)
   • DDL or Data Definition Language consists of the SQL commands that can be used to define the database schema.
   • For example, CREATE: This command is used to create the database.


2. DML (Data Manipulation Language)
   • The SQL commands deal with the manipulation of data present in the database belonging to DML or Data Manipulation Language and this includes most of the SQL statements.
   • For example, INSERT: It is used to insert data into a table.


3. DCL (Data Control Language)
   • DCL deals with the rights, permissions, and other controls of the database system.
   • For example, GRANT: This command gives users access privileges to the database.
   • DDL
   1-CREATE DATABASE: This command is used to create a new
   database.

   CREATE DATABASE database name ;
   2-USE DATABASE: To use and activate a specific database in SQL
   syntax
   USE database name ;
   3-DROP DATABASE: to delete a database
