This study aims to enhance teamwork skills among lower secondary school

science students through a Learning Activity Package (LAP) using the design

thinking process. The research evaluates the experiences of science teachers and

students to identify areas for improvement in teamwork skills, which is achieved

through interviews and observations in the Empathise & Define phase. Insights

from this phase are used in the Ideate & Prototype phase to develop and refine

collaborative learning activities, focusing on communication, collaboration, and

problem-solving. Rooted in cooperative learning theory and utilising a design

thinking framework, the study employs a user-centred approach with tools like

personas and user journey maps. The project, through expert evaluations and an

iterative design process, aims to contribute significantly to the development of

teamwork skills, preparing students for future workforce demands.
