• From the standpoint of sources, the volcaniclasts of Wādi Qābil, are comprised of highly fragmented materials containing juvenile products of explosive eruptions and fragments of materials plucked from the walls of the vent.
• The juvenile lithics represent, by far, the dominant part of the ejecta. They are dark grey to pale pink in colour for example at wadi qable;, chaotically sorted ungraded, generally internally unstructured and dominated by basalt lithic fragments ranging in size from fine ash to lapilli, most of which are rounded due to in-vent abrasion. The thickness of the deposits are vary from plce to place depends upon the explusion that had .
• The blocks generally consist of unvesiculted angular fragments of basalt, rounded to rectangular sandstone as well as limestone of known crustal rock types derived from underlying strata (Abu Shaybah sandstone, Al Aziziyah carbonates and phonolites. This suggests that the hydroclastic explosion depth over which fragmentation occurred was within / or below the stratigraphic position of the two lithostratgraphic units at depths estimated between 40 and 70 m as suggested elsewhere by Valentine, et al. (2014).
