The world and history have awaited another 70 years for a couple of scientists to meet who deserved the Nobel Prize for Science. In 2014, May-Brett (1963) and Edward Mozer (1962) received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, after their discovery of the "internal system in the brain to determine positioning" in cooperation with John O'Kef, their discovery allows the possibility of orientation in space, or in other words, thanks to their discovery we can understand the internal system in the brain that enables us to realise where we are, where we are going, and how we store those paths and trends to remember them later in the future.

The couple Moser, who met while studying psychology at the University of Oslo, re-conducted research by O’Keif in 1971 and discovered the first components of the internal positioning system in the brain, where there are some cells near the “hippocal” that are of great importance in spatial memory and orientation. After 30 years, the Norwegian couple discovered another key component, which is that some neurons generate a coordinated system that allows accurate positioning in space.

After receiving the award from the Swedish Academy, the couple scientists embarked on their careers. May-Brett, who received the title of professor of neuroscience in 2000, became director of the Centre for Neurocomputing at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Petrondheim. Edward, a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from the University of Oslo, became director of the Kavley Institute of Neurosystem Science in Trondheim.
