The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that the Kingdom produces more than (300) varieties of dates, the most famous of which are (Sukkari, Khalas, Ajwa, Sagai, and Al-Safari), with a production exceeding (1.6) million tons annually. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing significant development and growth in the production of dates and their derivatives in accordance with the latest technologies and the highest quality standards, which has contributed to increasing the export of its products and the Kingdom achieving first place in exporting dates in the world during the year 2021 AD. The Ministry indicated that the number of palm trees in the Kingdom exceeds (34) million palm trees distributed throughout all regions of the Kingdom. The Qassim region (11.2) million palm trees, Medina (8.3) million palm trees, Riyadh (7.7) million palm trees, and the Eastern Province (4.1). One million palm trees, stressing that the palm and date sector is one of the tributaries of agricultural production in the Kingdom, which is relied upon to achieve food systems and achieve sustainable agricultural development.
