Calculate the theoretical values I1, I2, I3, I4, V1, V2, V3, and V4 for the circuit shown in figure 4.1.The libraries are named as: abm, analog, analog_p, breakout, eval, evalp, source, sourcstm, special.Capture the circuit shown in figure 4 by following the given steps: a) Start -> Programs -> OrCad 16 Demo -> OrCadCapture CIS Demo.Once the simulation has run successfully, the component values can be seen by clicking on 'V' and 'I' on the tool bar of the 'Schematic1' page.This opens an 'OrCadCapture CIS - Demo Edition' window.Under the location, create a sub-directory called as CTA under TOOLS directory, by clicking on 'Browse'.The path that appears looks like: C:\ORCAD\ORCAD_16.0_DEMO\ TOOLS\CTA.Select all the libraries that are in 'PSpice' folder.If a component has to be rotated such as R3 and R4 in figure 4.1, click on the component, right click on the mouse and select 'Rotate'.To select, do the following: PSpice -> Edit Simulation Profile.c) To select resistor, click on ANALOG.You would observe that a resistor symbol is attached to the curser.Once all the resistors are placed on the page, right click the mouse and select 'end mode'.Click on OK. Voltage source symbol is attached to the curser now.Select 0/CAPSYM and click on OK button.and the value for a DC source is 0 V. To change the value of a component, double click on the default value.Simulation Settings - CTA_Exp4 window opens.Under analysis, select 'Bias Point'.Click on Apply and then on OK. j) To run the simulation, do the following: PSpice -> Run.(Show the theoretical calculations, here) 2.Select 'Analog or Mixed A/D' radio button.Select 'Create a Blank project' radio button and then click on 'OK'. b) Now you are ready to capture the schematic.In the Schematic1 window, select Place -> Part.

2. Capture the circuit shown in figure 4 by following the given steps:
a) Start → Programs → OrCad 16 Demo → OrCadCapture CIS Demo. This opens an ‘OrCadCapture CIS – Demo Edition’ window. Do the following:
File → New → Project. A ‘New Project’ window opens. Give an appropriate name such as CTA_Exp4 without leaving any space. Select ‘Analog or Mixed A/D’ radio button. Under the location, create a sub-directory called as CTA under TOOLS directory, by clicking on ‘Browse’. The path that appears looks like: C:\ORCAD\ORCAD_16.0_DEMO\ TOOLS\CTA. Click on OK button. ‘Create PSpice Project’ window opens. Select ‘Create a Blank project’ radio button and then click on ‘OK’.
b) Now you are ready to capture the schematic. In the Schematic1 window, select Place → Part. Place part window opens. Initially, the Part List area and Libraries area would be blank. Click on ‘Add Libraries’ button. Select all the libraries that are in ‘PSpice’ folder. The libraries are named as: abm, analog, analog_p, breakout, eval, evalp, source, sourcstm, special. Click on
‘Open’. All the libraries get populated under Libraries in the Place Part window.
c) To select resistor, click on ANALOG. Browse the part list window until you locate ‘R’. Select ‘R’ and click on OK button. You would observe that a resistor symbol is attached to the curser. To place a resistor on the page, left click on the mouse once. To place four resistors, left click on the mouse four times. Once all the resistors are placed on the page, right click the mouse and select ‘end mode’.
d) To place a voltage source, do the following: Place → Part → Source → VDC. Click on OK. Voltage source symbol is attached to the curser now. Left click on the mouse to place the source on the page. Once the source is placed, Right Click on the mouse to end the mode.
e) To place a ‘ground’, do the following: Place → Ground. Select 0/CAPSYM and click on OK button. Left click on the mouse to place the ‘ground’ on the page and then right click on the mouse to end the mode.
f) Arrange all the components as shown in figure 4.1. If a component has to be rotated such as R3 and R4 in figure 4.1, click on the component, right click on the mouse and select ‘Rotate’. Once all the components are placed that looks similar to figure 4.1, they need to be connected with each other.
g) To connect the components, do the following: Place → Wire. The curser tip changes to ‘+’. Left click on the mouse, drag it to connect all the components including ground as shown in figure 4.1. Right click on the mouse to end the wire mode.
h) The default value for a resistor is 1kΩ and the value for a DC source is 0 V. To change the value of a component, double click on the default value. A display properties window opens. Change the value to a required quantity.
Repeat the process to change the values of other resistors and the voltage source.
i) To create simulation profile, do the following: PSpice → New Simulation Profile. ‘New Simulation’ window opens. Give an appropriate name such as CTA_Exp4. Click on ‘Create’. Once it is created, you need to select analysis type. To select, do the following: PSpice → Edit Simulation Profile. Simulation Settings – CTA_Exp4 window opens. Under analysis, select
‘Bias Point’. Click on Apply and then on OK.
j) To run the simulation, do the following: PSpice → Run. Once the simulation has run successfully, the component values can be seen by clicking on ‘V’ and ‘I’ on the tool bar of the ‘Schematic1’ page.
