During the year 2019, Almarai Company implemented a formal assessment of the factors of material importance, during which it communicated with stakeholders at the internal and external levels of the company, with the aim of focusing on the most prominent social, environmental and governance aspects that are most important to its business.In 2022, the company completed monitoring and studying the priority aspects identified in the materiality assessment and other relevant issues to ensure their suitability, and the results are listed below.Our strategy is based on three interconnected pillars, in addition to 12 core issues that support our contribution to building a more sustainable future.

In 2022, the company completed monitoring and studying the priority aspects identified in the materiality assessment and other relevant issues to ensure their suitability, and the results are listed below. We noticed that “healthy nutrition” was of particular importance to stakeholders at the internal level, and this was due to the pandemic, which highlighted the pivotal role that Almarai plays in ensuring and enhancing food security for our communities. In addition, stakeholders outside the company have placed greater importance on employee health and safety, employee competencies and diversity, and our community investment efforts. During 2022, Almarai continued to monitor identified material issues, programs and progress to ensure we remain on track to achieve our goals and meet our commitments.

By fulfilling our commitments, we contribute to creating positive change to build a better tomorrow. In 2019, we developed a set of 25 goals that we aim to achieve by 2025 while preparing our sustainability strategy under the slogan “We do better every day.”
