According to the United Nations (UN), climate change is defined as long-term changes in weather temperatures and occurs due to (United Nations, n.d): o Natural factors: changes in solar activity and volcanic eruptions.These damages included the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), because of the statement issued regarding the damages of climate change on the Gulf countries (Middle East Insitute,2023).This prompted the United Nations (UN) to hold the Climate Change Conference (COP 28) in the UAE to discuss the measures and strategies taken by each country to achieve the Paris Agreement (Net-Zero) (GGGI, 2023), which is to reduce the rate of greenhouse gas emissions by 45% for the year 2030 and by 0% for the year 2050 (United Nation, n.d).As a result, natural disasters have increased, such as floods due to rising water levels due to the melting of ice blocks resulting from climate change, as well as severe storms.

These factors lead to the emission of greenhouse gases, which in turn act as a cover around the Earth, which leads to the retention of the sun’s heat and leads to an increase in temperatures. As a result, natural disasters have increased, such as floods due to rising water levels due to the melting of ice blocks resulting from climate change, as well as severe storms. The salinity of freshwater resources, frequent forest fires due to drought and other disasters (United Nations, 2022).
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) also confirmed that the rate of natural disasters linked to climate change has doubled, causing damage to the environment and economies (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, n.d).
