Traffic and Motor vehicle EHSS Rules 4.5.1 Driver Selection and Qualification Before being allowed to operate a motor vehicle, drivers shall have a valid driver's license acceptable to local traffic regulations for the class of vehicle that he has been assigned or will be assigned to operate.4.5.2 Driver Training and Re-qualification 4.5.2.1 SABIC Facilities/Functions within SABIC Divisions shall design, conduct and document a driver training program which includes both initial and refresher training, as well as knowledge and driving skills tests.Drivers of SABIC vehicles shall be able to speak and read sufficiently to converse with the general public, read and understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.In addition, any restrictions contained in that license must be complied with.

4.5.1 Driver Selection and Qualification
Before being allowed to operate a motor vehicle, drivers shall have a
valid driver’s license acceptable to local traffic regulations for the
class of vehicle that he has been assigned or will be assigned to
operate. In addition, any restrictions contained in that license must
be complied with.
Drivers of SABIC vehicles shall be able to speak and read sufficiently
to converse with the general public, read and understand highway
traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make
entries on reports and records.
When the Company plans to hire new employees or to transfer
existing employees into jobs for which driving a motor vehicle is the
primary function, individuals shall be selected who can be expected
to drive safely. Final selection should be based upon analysis of:
driving experience and driving record, knowledge test, driving skills
test, and physical examination.
4.5.2 Driver Training and Re-qualification
4.5.2.1 SABIC Facilities/Functions within SABIC Divisions shall
design, conduct and document a driver training program
which includes both initial and refresher training, as well as
knowledge and driving skills tests. The site Safety EHSS or
equivalent department /Industrial Hygiene department
shall participate in development, review, and approval of
the training program. Additional training shall be
considered for those who routinely travel over 15,000 km
(10,000 miles) per year on company business.
4.5.2.2 Each driver shall pass the knowledge test and the skills
test at least every 24 months and before returning to work
following any significant/relevant impairment due to
physical or mental injury or disease unless specified
differently in local regulations
